Spider-Man PS4 will be swinging into our lives in just a few short hours! The wait has been brutal, but we are finally now within reach of the blockbuster game.
With game play being released and trailers filling our social networks, we will soon know if Insomniac’s Spider-Man will be the game we have longed for.
With so much to look forward to, join us as we discuss why Spider-man PS4 is going to be awesome.
A New Story…
Finally we will be getting an original Spider-Man story. I mean origin stories are good and all but how many times must poor uncle Ben die before we can move onto something new?
Spider-Man PS4 takes place 8 years after Peter Parker has been bitten by that pesky spider and became the hero we know and love, Spider-Man. With that many years of crime fighting experience we have to almost be guaranteed some amazing combat moves and combo’s.
We will also get a look at a more grown up Peter Parker as he struggles through juggling normal adult hood and being the crime fighting vigilante in tights and a mask.
It will be nice to finally have a fresh and new take on not only Spider-Man’s story but Peter Parkers too.
Villains, Villains, Villains
We have seen more than our fair share of Spider-Man villains throughout the years. But Insomniacs Spider-Man takes this even further!
Spider-Man will have a lot on his plate based on trailers and artwork we have seen up to this point. It will be interesting and great to see just how the story unfolds. Here is the list of currently confirmed villains you can expect to be up against.
- Mr. Negative
- Task Master
- Silver Sable
- Norman Osbourne
Look at that line up! And that’s not even all of them.
Insomniac and Sony have also revealed that we can expect some downloadable content for the game as well! Personally I couldn’t be happier, the more Spider-Man the better.
The DLC named “The City that Never Sleeps” will be a 3 part set starting with part 1 – The Heist which has been confirmed to feature the sort of anti-hero, goody sometimes, bad at other times Black Cat. Which will be released on 23rd October 2018.
Following on from part 1 will be.
- Part 2 – “Turf Wars” which will be released in November.
- Part 3 – “Silver Lining” which will be released in December.
You will have the option to buy each part individually or as part of “The City That Never Sleeps” pack.
New and familiar suits
The Advanced Suit currently seen in game trailers looks to be awesome alone and that’s without looking at all the other suits that have been confirmed.
Insomniacs Spider-Man looks to also have a decked out wardrobe featuring suits like, The Velocity Suit, The Spider Punk Suit and Marvel The Avengers Iron Spider Suit.
Some other currently confirmed suits include
- Classic Spider Suit (Damaged)
- Classic Spider Suit (Repaired)
- Scarlet Spider Suit
- Spider Armor – MK II Suit
- Stark Suit (As seen in Homecoming)
- Stealth Suit
- Home-Made Suit (As seen in Homecoming)
This list is just a few of the costumes you can expect in the upcoming game, needless to say I will be rocking the Iron Spider suit as soon as I can!
Familiar Landmarks, Map and NYC.
Insomniacs Spider-Man will also be including some landmarks previously only seen in the MCU. These are currently confirmed to be Avengers Tower and Dr.Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum. I personally am hoping their may also be a couple of other nods to the MCU hidden in there somewhere.
However, Insomniac have stated previously that this Spider-man is in his own world and has little to no connection to the MCU. But it’s still nice to see they have taken the time to include these into the game!
The games map looks set to be huge. Providing us players with a huge open-world map, in which we can make our own playground as we swing through New York City. We will also be able to take the subway as a way of fast travel and interact with regular people out on the streets.
Congrats, you made it to the end! If I had a sticker I’d give it to you.
So what do you think? Will Insomniacs Spider-Man successful re-launch our favourite hero and provide us with the best game of the Year?
