New game plus, what is it and what does it mean? With the recent update Spider-Man PS4 will be getting a New Game Plus mode, some of you may be wondering what exactly New Game Plus is? Here is everything you need to know.

New Game Plus

New Game Plus (or more commonly referred to as NG+), is a game mode you can unlock once you have completed the games story. This will allow you to start a new game with the unlocked items from the previous saved game.

We will use Spider-Man as an example. Once you completed the game and unlocked the various suits and abilities, with New Game Plus these will transfer over to your new game from your previous save.

Along with transferring over your previously unlocked items and abilities, game developers may also upgrade in-game enemies. Making them stronger or giving them new powers or abilities to make it harder for you to beat the game.

Some other game titles that have added this feature are, The Witcher 3, Borderlands 2, Horizon Zero Dawn and Bloodborne.

New Game Plus is typically a free add-on to a game. Game developers usually choose to add this feature as a sort of reward to players who have completed the game. Adding a little something more to the games overall play through.
