Sorry in advance The Last of Us: Part II, Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima fans. I would love to include these epic titles, but as they don’t have an official release date yet, I can’t include them in this 2019 list.

With that said, lets take a look at the 5 Most Anticipated Games of 2019.

1. Resident Evil 2 Remake

To kick off our 2019 list of most anticipated games is Resident Evil 2 Remake. Back when it was first released Resident Evil 2 was probably the best of the franchise.

Combining 3D graphics with plenty of horror and tension, the 1998 horror game was arguably the stepping stone for many in the genre today.

Skip forward to 2019, over 20 years after it’s initial release and Capcom have certainly recreated the masterpiece with as much love, if not more than they did the first time around. The graphics look amazing, the story looks captivating and the mechanics of the game look well adjusted for the title.

Resident Evil 2 Remake looks set to kick off 2019 in the right direction!

2. Anthem

Destiny fans rejoice! Anthem looks like it will take the cake in this co-op, open-world. Developer BioWare are back at it again, creating a lush and vibrant open-world for you and your team to explore.

Though the overall idea of the game is similar to that of Destiny 2. The game developers have said that Anthem will have story which will conclude in the launch version. So basically no core plot points will be locked to players behind DLC.

With that said, the game publishers are EA who are notorious for including micro-transactions. Star Wars: Battlefront 2 anyone? However, flying around, shooting monsters and upgrading your gear with awesome out of this world tech with all your friends still sounds like a pretty sweet deal!

3. Metro Exodus

If flying around on jet-packs isn’t your thing, then maybe fighting your way through a post apocalyptic waste land is! Metro Exodus will be releasing in February 2019.

The game takes place 2 years after the events of Metro: Last Light in the year 2036. Once again gamer’s will take the lead with Artyom as he tries to escape Moscow in search of a better life in the east.

The story will take you through an epic year long journey as you take the helm of the Spartan Rangers. Fight your way through various human factions, mutants and animals in your quest for sanctuary after a devastating nuclear war.

4. The Division 2

Following on from the post-apocalyptic is another……. Well, post-apocalyptic game. Yes, The Division 2 is coming in 2019.

After the love it or hate it relationship gamer’s had with the first Division. Ubisoft are back at it again and seem to have corrected any issues gamer’s had with the first installment of the game. (Cough, cough *lack of content* cough, cough.)

The Division 2 takes players to Washington D.C. Six months after the events of the first game. Meaning this game will now be taking place in the summer rather than the winter, you will still have plenty of human factions to contend with and to top it off, it also looks as though you will be exploring various D.C. landmarks throughout the game.

If the end-game is a concern for you, Ubisoft has also promised players a “huge twist” to keep you hooked for all the end-game content!

5. Days Gone

To wrap up the 5 Most Anticipated Games of 2019 is Days Gone. After it’s initial delay the game has a release date set for 26th April 2019. (Hopefully it doesn’t get delayed again!)

Another post-apocalyptic title, Days Gone takes place 2 years after a global pandemic sweeps the world turning the infected into what the game refers to as “Freakers”.

Set in the Pacific-Northwest, you play as Deacon St. John, a biker/bounty hunter who is fighting for survival. You will have to find, craft and explore as you traverse the open-world in order to stay alive.

Along with the hordes of Freakers, players will also have to contend with various other human factions and wild animals. So in other words, watch out!
