7. The Last of Us Part 2

Number 7 on our 2019 Games list is The Last of Us Part 2. Although we have no confirmed release for 2019, there was a slight confirmation from the games musical director, who when interviewed said we could see the game in 2019 or 2020. Both of which seem like plausible dates for The Last of Us Part 2.

Picking up the story 5 years later. We get to continue the story of Joel and Ellie. While survival will be a core part of the game for obvious reasons, we can expect to see a shift in tone. Naughty Dog (the creators of The Last of Us) have stated that the sequel to the popular game will be much darker than the original, driven more by hate and despair rather than love and hope like the first game.

The game also looks set to have Ellie take the lead, now 18 or 19 years old. Based on conspiracies for the trailer (which you can watch below) could she be seeking to take down Joel’s killer? There are still more questions than answers, and thus far Naughty Dog have been fairly tight lipped on the highly anticipated game. Only time will tell what story Neil Druckmann & Co. have conjured up for us!

8. Death Stranding

Another PS4 exclusive to make the 2019 Games list.

Currently little is known about the upcoming game Death Stranding, other than what we have seen in the cinematic game trailers released so far. However, what we do know has us fairly excited for the upcoming games release.

This is the first game that Hideo Kojimas has worked on since the beloved Metal Gear franchise. Also, the game looks like it will have a killer cast and a huge budget, so in other words, expect big things.
